Requiem for a Dodo by gloriouskyle Requiem for a Dodo by gloriouskyle
This came from a monoprint exercise- I reverse printed a typed prose, and traced in ink from beneath the plate. Same deal with the drawing.
Apparenty, my into to printmaking teacher hadn't realized the Dodo was extinct. -And was also confounded by my process.

Apparently dodos tasted awful, feral pigs and dogs were the culprit, and ultimately man's ignorance.

Mind you, this is delicious irony.

That's what they say, but then again, I've never eaten one...

Funny. I can't help but feel bad for the little (well, not so little) guys, though.

Quite amusing! It WOULD make a great T-shirt!

(I may be wrong but I believe the word you wanted was "epitaph" not requiem.)
requiem:
any musical service, hymn, or dirge for the repose of the dead.

epitaph:
1. a commemorative inscription on a tomb or mortuary monument about the person buried at that site.
2. a brief poem or other writing in praise of a deceased person.

Hehe, Dodos sure were special birds. I enjoy drawing them myself. But I have to correct you: The Dodo was not delicious at all. They were killed simply because they were big and slow and because of a herd of fishermen, forced to stay on a boat for weeks (!!!) without any women at hand and well ... sure raises some aggression ...

Haha no, but there are letters preserved from angry sailors in some museum (National History Museum London? not sure) where they were were complaining to their governments about how shitty those birds tasted...

whippersnapper (me) has spoken and shall hence return to silence! ;-)

Basic, but quite amusing. And yes, it would make a good t-shirt.

I'll keep that in mind! But if this were going on a shirt, I'd do a much better job.
